Everything from the color to the timber cut grain wood feel can resemble a real wooden chair, perhaps the smell is different for those wanting to know. But the real winner for us somewhat lazy big guys is the no maintenance ever whatsoever appeal. Unlike traditional wooden Adirondacks, you wont need to sand, varnish or paint this chair ever again.

Overall the chairs were not horrible to put together. They took me about 30 mins each. I did take some additional time to make sure the slats were spaced well. These chairs were a gift. Below are some suggestions from my experience.

One of the biggest reasons that some folks are unsure of whether wood or plastic is the best material for Adirondack chairs is because they are worried about the capacity. Thankfully, even though plastic is a whole lot lighter than wood, the people using the chairs don’t need to be. For instance, the Highwood AD-CHL1-NBE has a capacity of 400 lbs. This should be more than enough for most sitters. The lowest capacity of the chairs on our list is PolyTEAK Classic Folding Poly Adirondack Chair, and even that has a capacity of 300 lbs.
Available in only two colors, and with no folding mechanism, there are a few features lacking on the Lifetime 60064, but overall it is well built and will last a lifetime. If you don’t want to spend a ton and don’t care too much about color, the Lifetime 60064 is the chair for you! Classic comfortable design; Constructed of weather-resistant simulated wood; UV-protected will not crack, chip or peel
A key part of that treatment involved prolonged exposure to the region’s cold, dry mountain air. “It’s one of the things you notice when you come to the Adirondacks,” notes Catania. “The air smells better, feels better.”
Hi Robin! I found the spray paint at Home Depot. Each color seems to come in a different finish though, so it can be tricky. Let me know if you have more questions.
Some owners have left outside in the winter, uncovered, without any damage to the finish. We suggest you bring them inside or pick up a chair cover to be safe.
Unfortunately, most chairs that I have seen, utilize the "flipper" behind the back support. Most of these chairs are bolted using one washer, or none, in between the folding parts. Some designs rub on the sides of the main frame support, and over time show scraping marks, and can also bind if folded after moist weather.
As for dimensions, can we just say this chair is huge and considerably easy to move around too. But I’ll fill you in on the important size measurements. Between the arms you get a generous 23 inches of space and for the actually seat its an extra wide and roomy 25″.
Others believe that the high price is justified because they are unique, elegant, and the most sought-after. Each design includes standard features like arms that stretch to full extension, sturdy backs that curve in different directions, and so on.
